Tired Of Love.
Slip these thoughts
Underneath a paperweight
Hang these worries
Upon the bannister
Lose a penny on the floor
I don’t care
For I’ve grown tired of love
And I don’t care anymore
I’ll rest the pen for a while
I’ll rest my hands from holding on too tight
I’ll rest these thoughts of you
And drift away from this sadness
I’ve used to call my home
And drift into that place
Just before my body sinks into the bed
Just before my head sinks into the pillow
Right at that gentle moment of weightlessness
Just before the hairs on my nape touch
The cool satin sheets that lay all day, waiting
Break a feather
Try not to hear the muttering
Just before you leave the room
Drop a shoe
Leave the door be, unclosed
Let the wind in, let it blow
I don’t care
I’ve grown tired of love
It doesn’t seem to matter
Not to me, not now,
Not anymore.
